VIDEO: Cuba Gooding Jr. stole the NHL Awards Show
Cuba Gooding Jr. was a guest presenter at the NHL Awards Show and was the most memorable part with a wild few minutes on stage.
The NHL Awards Show returned to the offseason picture on Tuesday after a year hiatus thanks to that silly lockout. This year's show was hosted by George Stromboupoulous but it was another man behind the mic who made saved it from another year of being completely forgettable.
Cuba Gooding Jr. is a hockey fan, something that can't be denied. He's frequently seen at games in New York for the Rangers. If there's anything that screams presenter at the NHL Awards, it's a celebrity who is a visible hockey fan. Thus their marriage was born for Tuesday night. Though it was more like a shotgun wedding.
Gooding took the stage alongside Adam Graves to present three separate awards, the King Clancy, the NHL Player Foundation Award and then to help with the Mark Messier Leadership Award. Cuba was just a wee bit ... well, he was something.
Yes, that's him at the end talking about reverse oreos and double stuffing. He also requested that his rear not be groped. Oh, and this, he did this too.
So this wasn't the best look for the NHL but it was undoubtedly the highlight of the evening's festivities. May we motion to have Cuba host the awards show next season?
