VIDEO: Drew Doughty checked into Ducks bench by Matt Beleskey

Drew Doughty has had an incredible postseason for the Los Angeles Kings. Naturally, the Anaheim Ducks want to do everything they can to knock him off his game. Matt Beleskey took that to an extreme Thursday night when he finished his check on the Kings defenseman.

After Doughty sent the puck deep into Anaheim’s zone, he turned his back to the hard-charging Beleskey. The Ducks forward didn’t let up, connecting with Doughty and sending him head over heels into the Ducks bench.

Doughty went face-first into the bench. His stick clocked NBC analyst Brian Engblom in the arm and knocked over his monitors. TSN’s Ray Ferraro provides the commentary of the video there and it appears he was far enough to the side where Doughty missed him.

Engblom and Ferraro are pretty lucky Doughty’s skates didn’t clip either of them. That was close.

Though it looked bad, Doughty was fine after the hit and remained in the game, of course. In fact, he seemed to find the humor in his mighty spill.
