VIDEO: Evgeni Malkin scores with spinning backhand shot
Evgeni Malkin with Sidney Crosby and Chris Kunitz makes for a pretty good line. They scored a pretty nice goal on Wednesday with Malkin's spinning backhander.
That's probably because when you put two of the best players in the world on the same line and two guys who have each won the Hart Trophy, you know they are pretty talented. Add in Chris Kunitz and you have one line with three Olympians. In other words, they can do some pretty great things.
Malkin did one of those great things in the first period of Game 4 on Wednesday against the Rangers. That's a pretty good way to describe a spinning, no-look backhander from the side of the net going in beneath Henrik Lundqvist's pads. The lone assist? Crosby.
Was it a save Lundqvist should have made? Probably. But credit where it's due and in this case it's due to Malkin.
