VIDEO: Hockey Night in Canada's opening montage for Game 1
Hockey Night in Canada's opening montage is always a must-see. The video producer Tim Thompson put together for Game 1 lives up tot he hype of a highly-anticipated series.
There are two things you absolutely must see when it comes to Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final. The first is of course the game itself, the second is Hockey Night in Canada’s opening montage. There are few better ways to set the stage for what is sure to be an exciting series between the Los Angeles Kings and New York Rangers.
Producer Tim Thompson, who puts the montages together for CBC, provided yet another terrific effort set to Neil Young & Crazy Horse’s “Love and Only Love.” With plenty of imagery from this postseason with some of the best highlights, the montage also calls back to the most recent Stanley Cups for each team. So yes, there’s plenty of Mark Messier, if you were wondering. There’s also a John Candy cameo which was unexpected and great.
These montages really do turn the game into art and this is a great way to get prepped for the entire series and especially the highly-anticipated Game 1.
