VIDEO: Ilya Bryzgalov makes great save, Blackhawks still score
Marian Hossa got behind the Wild defense for a breakaway but was stoned by Ilya Bryzgalov. The Blackhawks still scored, though, on Jonathan Toews' follow.
Poor Ilya Bryzgalov, even when he makes an outstanding save the Blackhawks still scored.
In the first period on Sunday, the Wild took control of the puck and moved it up ice. But as soon as they got the puck in the offensive zone, the Blackhawks took it right back. That meant Marian Hossa, who hadn't gotten back down the ice yet, was all alone behind the Wild defense.
After taking a pass, Hossa was in the clear by so much that he was able to slow down and make a move on Bryzgalov as it if were a shootout. Hossa appeared to have the open net but Bryzgalov stuck out his leg and made a tremendous save.
Only problem was he lost sight of the puck as it lay in the crease to Bryzgalov's other side and the hard-charging Jonathan Toews was there to swipe it into the net for the game's first goal.
