VIDEO: Jonathan Quick punches Corey Perry in the groin
The Stanley Cup Playoffs have been full of attacks on the groin and yet another was added to the list on Monday when Jonathan Quick punched Corey Perry.
In these playoffs, no groin is safe, especially Corey Perry's.
The Ducks star, who drenched Jeff Carter's gloves earlier in Game 2 in a sneak attack at the benches, was the victim of a punch to the groin from Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick later in the game. It did not look very gentle.
This is the second time this postseason that Perry has been on the receivng end of a cup check, also taking a spear to the groin in the first round that resulted in a game misconduct for Ryan Garbutt. Perry also gave out his own spear to the groin of Jamie Benn so there seems to be a theme here with Perry.
Quick's punch to the groin didn't go unnoticed, though, as he did get a two-minute minor for roughing. The Kings and fans all over the NHL think it was probably worth it.
As mentioned here, Perry is a world-class pest but should any player expect to have his family jewels come under constant attack? Apparently Perry should, especially in this postseason of the cup check.
