VIDEO: Josh Harding's diving save preserves shutout
Josh Harding made another save of the year candidate in preserving his shutout in the third period against the Flyers.
The Josh Harding Feel Good Express kept rolling on Monday night when he added another spectacular save to his growing highlight reel. With the Wild taking control of its game against the Philadelphia Flyers with two third period goals, Harding made a spectacular diving stop on Jakub Voracek.
The save both preserved the Wild’s momentum and Harding’s shutout. Minnesota held on to win 2-0 and Harding picked up his third whitewashing of the year, which is tied for the league best.
Just when you keep thinking Harding has hit a wall or he’s about to stumble from the remarkable pace he’s set, he goes and does something like that. Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis last year, Harding has refused to talk about it this season. Instead, he’s letting his play do the talking, proving a lot to peers and fans alike.
The 29-year-old goaltender has already surpassed his career-best win total with 14 and is the leader among primary starters with a .939 save percentage and 1.45 goals-against average. Maybe Harding will eventually drop off, but until then, you just have to enjoy what he’s accomplished this season, including this amazing save we’ll be watching all year long.
