VIDEO: Kings' Justin Williams nets sixth career Game 7 goal
Justin Williams is a monster in Game 7 anytime he gets there. He now has six goals and 11 points in six career Game 7s. Just remarkable stuff.
Death. Taxes. Justin Williams makes an impact in Game 7.
It is so much a guarantee that Williams will have at least a point when a series gets to a single-game elimination that he is becoming known as “Mr. Game 7.”
So it was as good a bet as any this postseason that Williams was going to score for the Los Angeles Kings as they took on the Anaheim Ducks Friday night in Game 7 of their Pacific Division final. It took him just 4:30 to do so.
Williams batted in his own rebound past Ducks goaltender John Gibson to give the Kings a 1-0 lead.
Williams has scored at least one goal in five of the six Game 7s he has played in, notching 11 total points in that situation.
How does he do it? Who knows. Maybe this will be one of life's great mysteries that will baffle scientists and analysts for centuries to come.
Here’s a quick look at how these games have gone for Williams over his career:
While with the Philadelphia Flyers, Williams had a goal and two assists in the 2003 Eastern Conference quarterfinals against Toronto.
That same postseason, in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final, Williams scored a goal against the Edmonton Oilers as the Hurricanes went on to claim the Cup.
In the 2013 Western Conference Quarterfinals with the Kings against the San Jose Sharks, he posted two goals.

In the last round of the playoffs this postseason, Williams had his “worst” Game 7, by merely notching an assist on the eventual game-winning goal scored by Anze Kopitar against the Sharks again.
With yet another goal to start this Game 7 against the Ducks, Williams is more than living up to the "Mr. Game 7" moniker.
Williams has never been a star player in the league, but it is becoming extremely well known that he is at his best when there’s everything to play for. That’s not a bad reputation to have.
