WASHINGTON -- It took until overtime Saturday for a goal to be scored in Game 2 between the Rangers and Capitals, the game going scoreless beyond regulation.

It was on the power play that Caps defenseman Mike Green, who led all NHL defensemen in goals this season, blasted a shot past Henrik Lundqvist from the high slot to give the Caps a 1-0 win and a 2-0 series lead.

"I tried to get over the puck," Green said. "Before that it kind of opened up a little bit. Mike gets the puck, makes a great read. I knew he was passing before he even wound up. So I got set up and made sure I just got it through. Lundqvist couldn't see so I got lucky."

Lucky or not, it was the only shot to hit the inside of the cage all afternoon, making Lundqvist the hard-luck loser.
