VIDEO: Milan Lucic, Joel Rechlicz throw down in brutal bout
Milan Lucic and Joel Rechlicz squared off Monday night in a brutal bout and broadcaster Jack Edwards had the call in a way only he can.
When it became apparent that two heavyweights like fearsome youth boxer Milan Lucic of the Bruins and The Wrecker Joel Rechlicz of the Capitals were dropping their gloves for a title on Monday night, you knew it would be a battle. Boy, was it ever a battle.
Haymaker after haymaker with plenty of punches landing square on the opponent. Even though it's preseason, they held nothing back and that was a real slobberknocker, as they would say in wrestling circles. It's almost scary in its brutality and neither guy wanted to stop for some time.
Say what you will about Bruins annoucer Jack Edwards, but he makes things exciting. His highlight during the fight? Has to be this gem:
"Rechlicz is being reckless with his face! He's assaulting Lucic's knuckles with his nose!"
Despite Edwards' enthusiasm for every Lucic swing, I'd call that one pretty close to a draw. One intense, brutal draw.
