VIDEO: Penguins' Marc-Andre Fleury makes awesome scorpion kick save
Marc-Andre Fleury turned in one of the saves of the season with his scorpion kick save against Evgeny Kuznetsov on Tuesday night.
Washington Capitals hotshot prospect Evgeny Kuznetsov nearly had his first NHL goal on Tuesday night in Pittsburgh but somehow his shot from the doorstep managed to stay out.
That somehow, of course, was the work of Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury. Sprawled on his belly and seemingly down for the count, Fleury was able to kick his right pad in the air and keep the puck out.
Now it is hard to tell if that puck hit Fleury's skate or hit the post but there wasn't any ringing from the iron so either that puck was dead or it was his skate making the stop. If it wasn't his skate then he still gets an A for effort.
The scorpion save never ceases to be a thing of beauty. Kuzentsov might not think so very much right now, however.
