VIDEO: P.K. Subban pulls off awesome move in practice shootout
In a scrimmage in front of the fans, Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban did his best Tomas Hertl in the shootout portion and it was excellent.
When Tomas Hertl scored his awesome goal in the opening weeks of the season in the Sharks' rout of the Rangers, some negative nilles poo-pooed the goal by noting that a lot of NHLers could make that same exact move.
Well over the weekend in a scrimmage and show for the public, Montreal Canadiens defenseman and last season's Norris Trophy winner P.K. Subban showed that he can do it too in the shootout portion of the show.
It's not anywhere near the same thing as Hertl, who did it in a game with defense and a goaltender who was actually trying to stop the puck but there's no denying the offensive skill on display with that move. Finishing into the top of the net is impressive, even if Subban is going approximately 10 miles per hour slower than the fleet Hertl.
Maybe Subban should try this in an actual shootout some time. He's one of the players in the NHL that just might be daring enough.
