VIDEO: Rangers pick Anthony Duclair scores amazing goal in camp game

The New York Rangers don’t have an overly deep prospect pool at the present. They haven't had a first-round pick in the last two drafts and won't have one next year, but they do have some intriguing individuals that could one day soon push for NHL time. One of those players is Anthony Duclair, the club’s third-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, who has spent the last three seasons with the Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

This week, along with other high-profile Canadian prospects under the age of 20, Duclair is participating in Hockey Canada’s summer evaluation camp in preparation for the World Junior Championship in December. A group of Canadian campers played a game against the Czech Republic’s U20 team in Montreal Tuesday night and it was there that Duclair put on one heck of a show.

With Canada up 2-0 in the game already, Duclair found himself with a chance to take the puck wide on a Czech defender. Though he was well defended, Duclair faked like he was going to cut to the middle, then tucked the puck between his legs and kept going wide, a move that somewhat baffled his Czech counterpart. That got him just enough room to get around the defender and pull the puck back towards the net where he slid it through the goaltender’s legs.

Yeah, that was pretty good. So what if it's a summer camp game? You go ahead and celebrate that move, Anthony. You earned it.

Canada won the game 6-2 with Duclair also adding an assist to his highlight reel goal for a two-point night.

Duclair is coming off a tremendous season with the Remparts. He scored 50 goals last year and posted 99 points in 59 games. The 18-year-old will likely head back to junior again next year and probably torch the U20 ranks once again. He has 215 points in 177 career games in the QMJHL.

He'll have some stiff competition for a spot on Canada’s World Junior team, but that little show of skill probably helps Duclair’s cause a bit.
