VIDEO: Ryan Miller's amazing stick save saves day for Sabres
Ryan Miller continues to do it all. His Save of the Year candidate on Mikhail Grabovski on Sunday helped the Sabres to a 2-1 shootout win.
Ryan Miller has been a very rare bright spot for the Buffalo Sabres this season, doing all that he can to keep the Sabres in games every time out. He saved their bacon again on Sunday in Washington with a Save of the Year candidate.
In the dying minutes of a 1-1 game, Capitals center Mikhail Grabovski found himself on the doorstep with a mostly open cage and the puck on his stick. He shot into the yawning cage but Miller was somehow up to the task, knocking the puck out with his stick.
Let's see that again, in instant replay from inside the cage. It looks just as pretty.
Yes, you can call that a game-saving save too considering the Sabres won the game in a shootout, 2-1. It's just another feather in the cap for Miller, who is making one heck of a statement to be the starter for the USA at the Olympics. He has a .950 save percentage in the past 10 games. He might be having the best season of his career.
