VIDEO: Sean Avery makes 'Dancing With the Stars' debut
Former NHL agitator galore Sean Avery represented hockey on 'Dancing With the Stars' on Monday night with his Contemporary duet. His score was 10th out of 12.
It has been a couple of years since Sean Avery threw his ice skates into the Hudson and moved on to life after NHL hockey. That road took him to Dancing With the Stars on Tuesday night.
The mercurial agitator once again showed his softer side to the world when he took part in a Contempoary duet with his dance partner Karina Smirnoff. This is what it looked like.
After the dance Avery revealed what he was thinking during the dance, saying he was channeling Kevin Bacon. For it was not Slap Shot or anything like that that Avery calls his favorite movie since he was a kid, it's Footloose.
Avery pulled in a score of 20 out of 30 for the dance, which was 10th out of 12 dancers. Considering this is a show (I think) that is based on audience votes and not judges' scores, it seems likely Avery's stint on the show could be short-lived because, you know, Avery has never been the most popular guy around.
In one other small hockey tie, Valeri Bure's wife Candace Cameron Bure is also on the show.
