VIDEO: Seth Jones scores pretty late game-winner against Canadiens
Nashville Predators rookie defenseman scored a beauty of a game-winner late in the third period against the Montreal Canadiens.
Perhaps you’ve heard of Seth Jones. The Nashville Preators’ Texas-born rookie defenseman that’s the son of a former NBA player and been playing on the team’s top pairing with Shea Weber leading some to wonder if he's the best defensive prospect in years? Yeah, that’s the one. He’s been impressive from the first game he’s played in the NHL, but now he has a nice little highlight to go along with his terrific defensive play.
With the Predators and Canadiens knotted up 1-1 with just under 1:30 to play in the third period, Jones got involved offensively. After dishing the puck to David Legwand, Jones took off for the net. Legwand sent a beautiful backhand pass to the rookie blueliner, who then toe-dragged right around Josh Gorges and put a low, hard shot past Carey Price.
It would hold up as the game-winner giving the Predators a huge road victory and a young rookie an early signature play to attach to his Calder resume. He’s going to be a real good one, folks.
