VIDEO: Shaquille O'Neal takes New Jersey Devils' Zamboni for a spin
One of the greatest NBA legends got to live out every hockey fan's dream of taking the Zamboni for a spin around the home rink.
Sports fans are used to seeing Shaquille O’Neal driving the lane for a monster dunk, but the New Jersey Devils recently gave him a chance to go for a drive of another kind. As a guest of the Devils for tonight’s tilt against the Florida Panthers at the Prudential Center, Shaq was given the chance to drive the Devils’ Zamboni before the game.
Yes, one of the greatest NBA legends got to live out many a young child's fantasy of driving the Zamboni on an NHL rink. First of all, credit to Shaq for climbing in the big rig and props to the big rig for supporting the big fella. It's probably safe to say the seven-footer is well outside of the average size of NHL Zamboni drivers.
Here’s another look at the four-time NBA champion taking the Zamboni for a twirl. Looks like an old pro.
Now the big question: Will they let him do it between periods?
