VIDEO: Steve Mason stones Benoit Pouliot on the power play
Benoit Pouliot had one of the Rangers' best scoring chances midway through the second period with an uncontested rush. Steve Mason was up to the task.
Benoit Pouliot learned this all too well when he had a glorious chance on a power-play rush. Pouliot reached out to snag the pass in time to look up and try to pick a spot on Mason. He chose the glove side.
Mason stopped it cold, and with some flare, too.
The game at that point was already 2-0 Flyers so it wasn't exactly a moment that swung the game but it lifted an already excited building that nearly blew its roof off when the penalty concluded less than a minute later and Erik Gustafsson was scoring on a breakaway right out of the penalty box.
I think we can safely say the Flyers missed Mason in the first few games of this series because since he's returned he's been very good in the Philly net.
