The Florida Panthers welcomed the Winnipeg Jets to town Thursday night in a battle between a pair of struggling teams. The results, as you can imagine, were hilarious.

The Panthers won the game by a 5-2 score, but the highlight of the night came within the game’s first five minutes.

While backing into their own zone, Florida defensemen Dylan Olsen and Erik Gudbranson ended up backing into each other instead. Both tumbled to the ice, but luckily not before Gudbranson made a fortuitous poke check to force a turnover.

Yeah, the Jets couldn’t even make a clean zone entry with two defensemen falling over each other.

Then, to make matters worse, on the way to trying to backcheck, a pair of Jets collided. Mark Scheifele was dejectedly turning to head back to his own zone and ended up clipping teammate Eric Tangradi, who fell right on top of the Jets rookie.

If fans of either team were looking for a highlight to define their seasons, they may need to look no further.
