VIDEO: Tim Gleason had a pretty painful game on Tuesday
Maple Leafs defenseman was hit in the groin, the face and hard into the boards. In the same game. Talk about a tough day at the office.
If there were ever a time for the infamous "body injury" on an injury report, Thursday would be it for Toronto.
That's because on Tuesday night against the Lightning at home, new Maple Leafs defenseman Tim Gleason had a brutal night. Brutal in hockey is a tough standard to meet with the sport's notorious toughness but it seems pretty apt nonetheless.
What else would you call the injury trifecta of taking a hard shot to the groin, taking a puck to the face (courtesy of your own goaltender, no less) and then being hit into the boards awkwardly and remaining down for a while, holding his shoulder.
Of course in true hockey player style, it doesn't look like Gleason is going to miss time, though I'm not sure you could blame him if he did.
