VIDEO: Tomas Plekanec undresses Radko Gudas, ties game early
Just 19 seconds after Tampa Bay took a 1-0 lead, Tomas Plekanec just undressed Radko Gudas to give the Canadiens an early equalizer.
The Tampa Bay Lightning are a very young team in the playoffs, a lineup littered with players who are either in their first or second NHL season. The Montreal Canadiens are not anywhere near as green.
So when the Tampa Bay Lightning rookie Nikita Kucherov opened the scoring to send the arena in Tampa into a frenzy, Habs veteran Tomas Plekanec came right back and got the equalizer with a pretty shot that beat Anders Lindback.
Oh, and did we mention that he made Lightning rookie defenseman Radko Gudas look silly? Because boy oh boy did he sure leave the rookie roasted and toasted.
With some space in the zone Plekanec faked the shot from up high and then juked Gudas right off his feet, twisting him around to the point that all he could do was flail his stick to try and block the shot. It didn't work.
So there it was, just 19 seconds after Kucherov scored Plekanec evened the game back up on one Gudas probably would like to forget.
