For fans that can't get enough of HBO's awesome 24/7: Road to the Winter Classic series, NBC Sports Network and the NHL decided to launch their own version with much of the same production staff called NHL Revealed. The show will keep up with players prior to the Stadium Series games as well as the Olympics. It made its debut on Wednesday.

While it's lacking the flood of profanities that the show on HBO features, it had some very good scenes, chief among them coming off the ice with Islanders forward Kyle Okposo.

With the cameras following the Islanders prior game at Yankee Stadium, Okposo was hours away from becoming a father for the first time with his wife Danielle expecting. Okposo left practice and headed home before going to the hospital. He held himself together remarkably well for a first-time father but certainly the nervousness and emotion was all there.

The ordeal might have cost Okposo a game with the Islanders but that sounds like such a small price to pay for a moment like the one the Okposo's had, in front of cameras to document it all no less. The video is a little more than five minutes but it's pretty cool stuff.

The scenes with Okposo was just a portion of the hour-long premier episode that also spent some time with Martin Brodeur in a trip to Montreal, the Senators, Ducks, Kings and Penguins. It doesn't have the more centralized focus of 24/7 but maybe that's good because there's more footage to make the cut. There's the off-ice stuff but plenty of in-game action too.
