Watch as Jon Mirasty punches himself in the face on bench
Professional athletes sometimes do crazy things to get themselves fired up for a game. Usually the type of things no human being should ever do to themselves. Jon Mirasty gives us a good example.
Professional athletes sometimes do crazy things to get themselves fired up for a game. Sometimes it's the type of thing no human being should ever do to themselves.
Take for example former Seattle Seahawks fullback Owen Schmitt, who once pounded himself in the face with his own helmet during pregame introductions, resulting in a pretty sizable gash to his forehead.
That brings us to hockey tough guy Jon Mirasty, currently playing for the KHL's Astana Barys.
While sitting on the bench during a recent game Mirasty decided it would be a good idea to punch himself in the face a couple of times to get himself going. Why? We have no earthly idea.
Mirasty has never played in the NHL, but he's bounced around various minor league teams since 2003, racking up huge penalty minutes as a fighter. So he's used to using his fists on the ice ... just not on his own face.
