WATCH: Paul Stastny's goals set to exuberant home radio call
Paul Stastny scored twice in one of the most exciting finishes of the young postseason. The Avs home radio call matched that excitement and multiplied it by 100.
Home radio broadcasters get a lot more leeway in terms of how they call the games. Often utilized more as an extension of the team than an impartial broadcaster, one of the best ways to encapsulate the emotions of a game is through the home radio call. With the way the Colorado Avalanche won Game 1 of their series with the Minnesota Wild, home fans got the call they deserved from Marc Moser of Altitude Radio.
Friday, the Avalanche were kind enough to link up the video with Moser’s call of Paul Stastny’s game-tying and overtime game-winning goals. The results are… euphoric.
If Moser has a voice today, I’d be shocked. He may still just be screaming “SCOOOOORE! Paul Stastny! Paul Stastny” at passersby in the neighborhood. Who could blame him?
That was one of the most exciting finishes to a playoff game we’ve seen in this very young postseason and now we have the audio to match. Salute to you, Marc Moser, and be sure to grab some tea and honey. It’s a long postseason.
