  • Ducks' Jonathan Bernier: Guarding crease Saturday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/14/17) Bernier will man the goal posts for Saturday's road contest with the Coyotes.

Bernier has seen his fare share of struggles of late as he's gone 2-2-0 with a 4.53 GAA and .844 save percentage over his last seven appearances, a likely reason why he hasn't started a game since Dec. 20. The 28-year-old backstop figures to have a good opportunity to turn things around as he'll be facing a Yotes' lineup that averages 2.10 goals per game, 29th in the NHL.

Ducks' Jonathan Bernier: Allows five goals on 34 shots

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(12/20/16) Bernier gave up five goals on 34 shots and picked up two PIM during Tuesday's 5-1 loss to Montreal.

While there was no offensive support to speak of, Bernier's performance was shaky -- again. The netminder allowed four goals in his previous start before getting pulled, and in the month of December, the 28-year-old has given up a massive 22 tallies in just six appearances. That number is inflated due to eight goals allowed against Calgary, but he's struggling nonetheless.

Ducks' Jonathan Bernier: Will start Tuesday in Montreal

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(12/20/16) Bernier will start between the pipes in Tuesday's road game against the Canadiens, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.

Bernier was shaky in his last start, surrendering four goals on 21 shots before being replaced by John Gibson for the third period of Saturday's 6-4 loss to Detroit. The 28-year-old netminder will look to bounce back and pick up his seventh win of the season in a tough road matchup with a Canadiens team averaging 3.61 goals per game at home this season, third in the NHL.

Ducks' Jonathan Bernier: Pulled after two periods

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(12/18/16) Bernier allowed four goals on 21 Detroit shots and was replaced by John Gibson for the third period.

The Ducks were up 3-1 in the second when a Tomas Tatar shot went off the back boards and the side of the net before going in off the back of Bernier's leg. The momentum flipped at that point and the Wings scored the next three goals in short order. The boards at Joe Louis Arena are notoriously springy and Bernier just wasn't expecting it to bounce back like that. The game ended 6-4, but the loss was Gibson's.

Ducks' Jonathan Bernier: Back in goal Saturday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(12/17/16) Bernier will patrol the crease Saturday evening against host Detroit, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.

Bernier will field shots from a Detroit team that has welcomed the return of several players from injuries lately but is still having one heck of a time on the power play -- one man-advantage goal in the past eight games. After enduring a nightmarish 2015-16 campaign with the Maple Leafs that included just 12 wins in 38 games, Bernier looks slightly more comfortable in a Ducks sweater based on his six victories in 13 tries, though the save percentage (.908) mirrors his rate from last season.
