Backstrom solid, drops shootout: Minnesota G Niklas Backstrom made 15 saves on 16 shots on Wednesday against the Boston Bruins but lost the game in a shootout, 2-1. Backstrom allowed Patrice Bergeron to score on the game's first shootout attempt but Minnesota's Mikko Koivu evened things up. After trading saves twice, however, David Krejci got one passed Backstrom for the win.
