Goligoski plays despite illness: The Sports Xchange reports Penguins D Alex Goligoski played nearly 27 minutes on Saturday night at San Jose, even though he was questionable to play at all because of fatigue from an illness. The Penguins had promoted D Deryk Engelland from the AHL on Saturday to guard against Goligoski's potential absence, but Goligoski played and played a lot when D Kris Letang left after playing only 3:38 because of injury to his right side.

He continues to do a great job in the absence of Sergei Gonchar, who is out a few more weeks with injury. It appears safe to keep Goligoski active for Week 6 (Nov. 9-15).
