Ersberg loses in first start: Kings G Erik Ersberg, making his first start of the season in relief of No. 1 goalie Jonathan Quick, stopped 17 shots during a 4-2 loss to the Rangers on Wednesday. Ersberg never led in the game and allowed a pair of power-play goals in the first period. Marian Gaborik iced the game with his sixth goal of the season past Ersberg 4:22 into the third.
