  • Capitals' Jay Beagle: Fully recovered from hand injury

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(5/12/16) Beagle said he's healthy heading into the offseason, following complications with his grip strength after dealing with a broken hand earlier in the year, Isabelle Khurshudyan of The Washington Post reports.

Beagle underwent hand surgery on Jan. 2. CSN's Chuck Gormley reports that Beagle told him he only had 70 percent of his grip strength once he returned from the injury. Beagle only managed one goal for his lone point in conference quarterfinals versus the Penguins, but it's not as if much offense was expected from the bottom-six forward in the first place, thus making it hard to tell at the time how much he was limited.

Capitals' Jay Beagle: Scores third goal of postseason

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(5/5/16) Beagle scored his third goal of the postseason despite playing only 10:59 in Wednesday's 3-2 loss at Pittsburgh.

Beagle saw the second least ice time of any Capitals forward, and has now dipped under 11 minutes in consecutive contests after exceeding 15 minutes in the previous two. His eight-goal regular season suggests Beagle isn't normally much of an offensive threat, so don't expect his usage to rise much against the high-scoring Penguins despite his effectiveness in this one.

Capitals' Jay Beagle: Nets second goal of playoffs Monday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/19/16) Beagle scored his second goal of the series in Monday's 6-1 rout over the Flyers.

Manning the fourth line between Daniel Winnik and Tom Wilson, the 30-year-old forward has been a pleasant surprise on the scoresheet in recent games. While the offense is helpful, the defensive specialist doesn't get enough quality minutes to produce consistent offense, so it's hard to rely on him in any fantasy format.

Capitals' Jay Beagle: Finds twine in Game 1 victory

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/14/16) Beagle lit the lamp and added two PIM in Thursday's 2-0 victory against Philadelphia in Game 1.

Beagle has now scored in four straight years in the playoffs, although he hasn't surpassed one in any of those postseason appearances. The 30-year-old may not see the ice too often on the fourth line, but the ability to find twine is there, which just adds to the overall threat that the Caps possess.

Capitals' Jay Beagle: Should be ready for Game 1

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/11/16) Beagle (undisclosed) is expected to be ready for Wednesday's Game 1 matchup with the Flyers, Isabell Khurshudyan of the Washington Post reports.

Beagle exited Saturday's game with an undisclosed issue that forced him out Sunday as well. Fortunately, it appears the move may have been somewhat precautionary, and the 30-year-old should be good to go for the postseason. Expect further confirmation to come closer to the game, but even if he's available, Beagle's 17 points in 57 games don't make him the ideal fantasy option for those in playoff pools.

Beagle (shoulder) has been ruled out for the entirety of the Capitals' three-game road trip that begins Thursday in Montreal, Alex Prewitt of the Washington Post reports.Beagle was initially expected to join the team during the trip, but coach Barry Trotz said both the forward and the team's training staff decided it would be better if he continued to rehab back in Washington.
