  • Sabres' Tyler Ennis: Ready to start the season

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/1/16) Ennis, who played just 23 games during the 2015-16 season due to concussions, should be healthy for the start of the season, the Edmonton Journal reports.

Ennis says he's feeling "better than 100 percent", and that it's possible he starts on the second line with Jack Eichel and Sam Reinhart. Though the line seems undersized, it's also blessed with incredible speed, skill and smarts. Eichel and Ennis have shown good chemistry in the past. Ennis was rumored to be on the trading block over the summer, but the two concussions he suffered last year scared off some teams. The 26-year-old and three-time 20-goal scorer is looking to get his career back on track. He could provide very good value in deep drafts as a player who has fallen off the map a little.

Sabres' Tyler Ennis: Out for the season

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/7/16) Ennis (concussion), who is back on the ice, will not play Friday or Saturday.

This effectively rules Ennis out for the season. He hasn't played since Dec. 30 and will finish with 11 points in just 23 games played, a disappointing season for the Sabres' reigning top scorer. He is expected to be back next season as one of the team's top wingers after signing a five-year extension in 2014.

Sabres' Tyler Ennis: Won't play Friday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/7/16) Ennis (concussion) will not return for Friday's home tilt against the Blue Jackets, Paul Hamilton of WGR 550 reports.

Ennis was holding out hope for a return before the end of the season, but that appears to be wishful thinking at this point. Of course, even if he does return, it would only be for one game, as the Sabres have missed the playoffs and will close out the 2015-16 campaign this Saturday with a road game against the Islanders. The crafty winger has only appeared in 23 games this season, with 11 points overshadowed a bit by a minus-9 rating.

Sabres' Tyler Ennis: Return from injury still possible

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/31/16) Ennis (concussion) still hasn't ruled out a return before the end of the season, reports Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News.

Ennis hasn't played since Dec. 30 and has appeared in just 23 games this season. After scoring 20 goals for the second straight year and leading the Sabres in scoring the previous season, Ennis has been a big disappointment. Despite establishing some chemistry with Jack Eichel during the preseason, the two never really clicked once the regular season started. However, Ennis is expected to return next season and could be an under the radar fantasy pick due to his limited exposure this season.

Sabres' Tyler Ennis: Close to returning to practice

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/24/16) Ennis skated Wednesday and should re-join the team for practice soon.

It's been a long road to recovery for Ennis, who has yet to play in the 2016 calendar year. With less than three weeks left in the season, the Sabres are hoping Ennis can return before the season finale, but it will depend on how well he progresses in practice. The Sabres are in no rush with a playoff spot out of reach.
