  • Jets' Tyler Myers: Progressing well

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/27/17) Myers (lower body) remains on track to return prior to the end of the season, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.

The original timeline for Myers return was 6-to-8 weeks, which the short end would put him at March 21 against the Flyers. With the 27-year-old sidelined -- along with Toby Enstrom (lower body) -- Ben Chariot has been pressed into a second pairing role and is averaging 21:29 of ice time per night. Once cleared, Myers will almost certainly slot back into the Jets' power play where he has logged 1:42 of ice time per night, albeit in a limited 11 appearances.

    Jets' Tyler Myers: Undergoes surgery

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/7/17) Myers (lower body) underwent surgery Monday and is expected to miss 6-to-8 weeks.

The big defenseman last played Nov. 11, meaning he's missed the team's last 39 games. If Myers' recovery lands on the short-end of the timeline, he should be able to play a few games before the end of the season. If it takes a full-eight weeks, don't be surprised if the Jets shut him down for the remainder of 2016-17.

Jets' Tyler Myers: Leaves team for personal reasons

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/11/17) Myers (lower body) is still recovering from his injury, and he's left the team to attend to a personal family matter, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.

Myers, who has missed the past 27 games, remains on injured reserve, and it sounds like the Jets will give him whatever time he needs to handle the personal situation. He had been playing a good chunk of minutes (22:12 on average) before sustaining the ailment, with the Jets relying more on the likes of Ben Chiarot and Paul Postma to round out the defensive corps.

Jets' Tyler Myers: Traveling with team

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/2/17) Myers (lower body) will travel with the team for their two-game trip to Florida, Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun reports.

Myers finally appears to be heading in the right direction as he continues his lengthy recovery that has seen him sidelined since Mid-November. Prior to getting hurt, the defenseman was averaging 22:12 of ice time per night that includes 1:42 with the man advantage. WIth five points in his first 11 games, the 26-year-old looked poised to have a big year, but now may be lucky to reach his 27 point total from the 2015-16 campaign. It remains uncertain when Myers might be available to return, with Ben Chiarot the biggest beneficiary of Myers's absence.

    Jets' Tyler Myers: Not progressing

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(12/14/16) Myers (lower body) is not yet skating with the team and is struggling to take the next steps in the recovery process, Brian Munz of TSN 1290 reports.

Myers was originally expected to be day-to-day with this lower-body ailment, but has now missed the Jets' last 16 outings. Winnipeg has been getting by with their other defensive options, but would certainly get a boost from the return of the 26-year-old who contributes in all stages of the game. With no clear indication of when he might be ready, Myers will continue to languish on injured reserve.
