  • Predators' Colin Wilson: Looking for better regular season results

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(5/29/16) Preds GM David Poile is hoping for a more "well-rounded" Wilson next season, the Tennessean reports.

Wilson led the Preds in this year's postseason with 13 points in 14 games, but had what Poile called a "terrible" regular season with just 24 points in 64 games, a significant regression from his 42-point effort the season before. Starting this fall, fantasy owners will be hoping that Wilson's playoff success will start carrying over to the regular season. For his part, Poile seems optimistic. "Year older, year wiser, more mature. Hopefully [Wilson] relishes the success that we had and he had and he can put most of [his regular season struggles] behind him. I have a really good feeling that he's making that breakthrough. We'll all be there in September watching."

Predators' Colin Wilson: Leads Predators to Game 4 win with three points

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(5/6/16) Wilson scored a goal and two assists in a triple-overtime win against San Jose on Thursday, 4-3.

Nashville's line of Wilson, James Neal and Mike Fisher was easily the best line of the night, combining for seven points and accounting for all of Nashville's goals. Wilson is on a five-game points streak that goes back to the previous series, and now has two goals and three assists in his past five games. With the way he's been playing, expect Peter Laviolette to hike up his minutes in a big way.

Predators' Colin Wilson: Scores third goal of playoffs

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(5/3/16) Wilson lit the lamp, adding a plus-2 rating and four hits in Tuesday's 4-1 victory over the Sharks in Game 3.

Wilson has surprisingly been a consistent threat for Nashville in the postseason, notching points in eight of 10 outings (four straight) for a total of three tallies and five apples. These playoffs have already proven to be the 26-year-old's most productive of his career (previous high of five points), and the 2008 No. 7 pick continues to be a bargain option at the rate he is producing.

Predators' Colin Wilson: Opens scoring in Game 7

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/28/16) Wilson opened the scoring with an unassisted goal in Wednesday's 2-1 Game 7 victory over the Ducks.

Wilson corralled a bouncing puck in the Anaheim zone and backhanded it past goaltender Frederik Andersen for the crucial first goal. He has stepped his production rate up dramatically with five points in seven playoff games after totaling just 24 in 64 regular season contests, and the Predators will need continued secondary scoring from the 26-year-old if they hope to advance past the Sharks in Round 2.

Predators' Colin Wilson: Finally comes alive with multi-point showing

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/5/16) Wilson lit the lamp and tacked on an assist in Tuesday's 4-3 victory over Colorado.

Wilson is miles off of last season's 42 points, and even though injuries have played a part in that, the 26-year-old was not expecting to drop down to 24 in 62 appearances. The 2008 first-round pick has just one goal and five helpers since the beginning of March, and remains limited in the bottom-six role.

  • April 8, 2015: Preds' Wilson Adds Helper In Loss To Avs
Wilson notched an assist during Tuesday's 3-2 loss to Colorado, his first point in six games. With 42 points in 75 games, it's been a career season for Wilson, but he's still a very streaky player who tends to disappear for long stretches at a time. Case in point - Wilson was on fire during December and January, racking up 23 points (11G, 12A) in 25 games. However, in the 29 games since then, he's managed just nine points (5G, 4A).
April 8, 2015: Hishon lifts Avalanche to 3-2 win over struggling Predators
DENVER (AP) The Nashville Predators haven't won since clinching a playoff spot more than a week ago.
April 7, 2015: Hishon lifts Avalanche to 3-2 win over struggling Predators
DENVER (AP) Joey Hishon broke a third-period tie with his first NHL goal, Semyon Varlamov stopped 40 shots and the Colorado Avalanche beat Nashville 3-2 on Tuesday night to send the Predators to their fourth straight loss.
April 1, 2015: Predators D Roman Josi is unsung hero of special season in Nashville
Roman Josi is overshadowed as part of the great story that is the Nashville Predators, but in terms of what he provides to the team versus what he is paid, he's one of the league's best bargains.
