  • Oilers' Anton Lander: Sent down Sunday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/12/17) Lander was assigned to AHL Bakersfield on Sunday.

The winger has been bouncing between the NHL and minors the last few weeks due to the Oilers' bye week, but now with Iiro Pakarinen being called up, Lander will head back down. With 28 points in 18 games with AHL Bakersfield, he's been solid in the minors.

Oilers' Anton Lander: Recalled from minors Thursday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/9/17) Lander has been recalled from AHL Bakersfield.

Sure enough, Lander has returned to Edmonton following the bye week after getting some ice time in the minors. The Swedish pivot has posted 15 goals and 13 assists to go with a plus-13 rating in Bakersfield this season, but hasn't been given ample opportunities with the big club yet.

Oilers' Anton Lander: Returned to minors

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/5/17) Lander was sent back to the team's AHL Bakersfield affiliate on Sunday.

Lander hasn't drawn into the lineup since being recalled by the Oilers Jan. 19, so he will return to the minors to knock off some rust during the team's bye week. It's possible the club will recall him again when it resumes play next Saturday, but he may also stay in the minors if one or more of the injured players is ready to return.

Oilers' Anton Lander: Called back to big club Thursday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/19/17) The Oilers recalled Lander from AHL Bakersfield on Thursday.

Lander has split time relatively equally between NHL and AHL this season, tallying 20 and 16 games, respectively, in each league. While the 25-year-old center has recorded only four points in the majors, he's posted 27 over that short span with the Condors. It remains to be seen the role the Swede will take on in his most recent stay with the big club but given he's averaged only 9:35 of ice time in the NHL this season, it seems unlikely to be a large one at this point.

Oilers' Anton Lander: Reassigned to AHL

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/11/17) Edmonton has reassigned Lander to the AHL.

Though it spans demotions and scratches, Lander's last 11 NHL games have been rough. He's recorded one assist, three shots, and a minus-1 rating. He's also been under 10 minutes of ice time over the last seven games and saw only 3:24 of ice time in his most recent game. Even if Lander was reliably in the NHL, he's not helping anyone's roster.

  • April 2, 2015: Landers Signs Contract Extension With Edmonton

March 31, 2015: Two Assists For Oilers' Lander
Lander set up two goals in Monday's 4-1 win over Colorado.Lander has produced at a decent rate when in the lineup this season, posting 17 points in 32 contests (0.53 points per game). He doesn't shoot a ton (48 SOG) and of course owns a minus rating (minus-10), as all but two Oilers that have played more than 25 games are on the negative side of the ledger. The 2009 second-round pick is still just 23, so look for continued development from the Swede next season.
