  • Devils' John Moore: Returning to lineup Sunday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/12/17) Moore (concussion) will rejoin the lineup for Sunday's game against the Sharks, Chris Ryan of NJ.com,/a> reports.

Moore suggested that he's got no hesitations about being hit. "I'm definitely going to approach it by keeping my game simple. Try and get a hit early," Moore told NJ Advance Media. "I definitely don't have any reservations in my mind about getting hit. I feel like I'm stronger than I was when I went down." The blueliner's had a decent season for the Devils when healthy, totaling 13 points (five goals, eight assists) over 37 games. His minus-6 rating isn't surprising given that he plays for a team with a minus-27 goal differential on the season. He may slot in alongside Steve Santini in Sunday's pairings and is a likely candidate to rejoin the second unit on New Jersey's man advantage.

Devils' John Moore: Out of lineup Monday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/6/17) Moore (concussion) will not suit up against the Sabres on Monday, Andrew Gross of The Record reports.

According to coach John Hynes, Moore will need some additional ice time at practice before he is given the all clear to return. The defenseman has yet to get into a game in 2017, as he has now missed 16 straight with this concussion. With injuries piling up on the Devils blue line, Karl Stollery will replace the 26-year-old Moore for the time being. The Illinois native should have plenty of time to practice as New Jersey prepare to kick off their bye week on Tuesday.

Devils' John Moore: Projected to miss another Tuesday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/31/17) Moore (concussion) is still on injured reserve and is projected to miss Tuesday night's game in Detroit, according to NHL.com.

The fact that Moore remains on IR is a strong indication that he'll miss his 14th consecutive game and, as a result, every game in the month of January. Concussions can be tricky, so there will surely be some news if and when Moore passes protocol and is cleared by the team to return to action. Kyle Qunicey will likely continue to serve on New Jersey's second defensive pairing with Moore still out.

Devils' John Moore: Will not play Tuesday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/23/17) Moore (concussion) will miss Tuesday's game against LA, Andrew Gross of the Record reports.

The blueliner has been progressing well, but isn't quite ready to return yet. His next chance to return will come Wednesday, but if not then, he will get another four days to rest courtesy of the All-Star break before the next game on Jan. 31.

Devils' John Moore: Returns to ice Thursday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/19/17) Gross (concussion) resumed skating Thursday, Andrew Gross of The Record reports.

Thursday marked the first time Moore has skated since he sustained a concussion Dec. 31 against the Capitals, so although it's an encouraging step in the right direction, the 26-year-old blueliner is likely still a ways away from returning to game action. A more definite timetable for Moore's return to New Jersey's lineup should be established once he's cleared to practice with his teammates.
