  • Devils' Taylor Hall: Acquired by Devils in trade

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(6/29/16) The Oilers traded Hall to the Devils on Wednesday in exchange for defenseman Adam Larsson, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports.

Edmonton is looking to build its team around Connor McDavid, and moving Hall clears a good amount of cap space ahead of the July 1 signing period -- he has four years remaining on his contract with an average annual value of $6 million. Hall is a very nice acquisition for New Jersey, as he's a proficient scorer in the prime of his career. He's recorded 328 points (132 goals and 196 assists) in 381 career games with Edmonton. The Devils ranked dead last in scoring last season, so Hall will be heavily counted to reverse that trend.

Oilers' Taylor Hall: Finishes with 26 goals

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/16/16) Hall ended up with 26 goals and 39 assists for Edmonton this season.

The goal total was one off of his career best mark (27 in 2011-12). What may be even more impressive is the fact that he played in every game for Edmonton, the first time he has done so. Like Jordan Eberle however we are likely to hear Hall being mentioned in many trade rumors that would bring back a top pair defender. The Oilers are loaded with skilled forwards but are thin with players that can keep the puck out of the net.

Oilers' Taylor Hall: Powers Oilers past Canucks with three points

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/7/16) Hall recorded a goal and two assists in Wednesday's 6-2 rout of the Canucks.

Hall's 26th goal of the season pulled him within one of his career-high mark achieved in both 2011-12 and 2013-14 with one game to play. Edmonton closes the season with a road rematch against these same reeling Canucks, so his chances of reaching 27 again may not be so far-fetched based on this performance.

Oilers' Taylor Hall: Hits 60 points for second time

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/25/16) Hall reached the 60-point mark with a pair of goals -- one an empty-netter -- to go with four hits and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 6-3 upending of the Sharks.

Although he's been shooting the puck pretty regularly, Hall had been nearly entirely absent from the scoresheet recently, managing only a lonely goal in an eight-game stretch. Incredibly, this was his first multi-point game since way back on Jan. 18. In early February, Hall was sitting on nearly a point-per-game pace, but even with Thursday's return to production, he has only 10 points in his last 25 contests. Still, when healthy, Hall has generally done everything in his power to justify being the No. 1 overall pick by the Oilers in 2010, and he's already sitting on a new career high in games played with 77 this year.

Oilers' Taylor Hall: Ends point streak in loss

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/9/16) Hall went minus-1 with five shots, two hits and a blocked shot in Tuesday's 3-0 loss to the Sharks.

There wasn't much of anything happening for the entire Oilers team in this one, and Hall was no exception. He did manage a game-high five shots on goal, though, showing that he is still being as aggressive as ever here in the month of March. He's taken a whopping 29 shots over his last six games, so the goals will surely come for the 24-year-old if he can continue this level of aggression.

  • April 12, 2015: Oilers' Hall Ends Season With Two-Point Night
Hall scored his 15th goal of the season and had an assist in Saturday's loss to the Canucks. While it was a disappointing season for Hall, he went out with a strong performance Saturday. The 23-year-old finishes the season with 38 points and 158 shots on goal in 53 games. He's a prime bounce-back candidate next season, as injuries really took their toll on him this year. With just six power-play points this season, Hall is almost certainly due to improve on most of his offensive totals next season.
