  • Coyotes' Anders Lindback: Goes on IR

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/21/16) Lindback (Achilles) has been placed on injured reserve, according to the NHL Media Site.

Lindback had already been ruled out for the remainder of the 2015-16 season, so his placement on injured reserve shouldn't come as much of a shock. The backup netminder for the Coyotes, the 27-year-old didn't perform well enough or play consistently enough to be considered in fantasy leagues, and neither should his replacement (Niklas Treutle). Now that he's done for the season, Lindback will set his sights on rehabbing for the 2016-17 campaign.

Coyotes' Anders Lindback: Will miss rest of season

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/17/16) Lindback will undergo surgery on his injured Achilles tendon Friday, and will miss the remainder of the season as a result, Craig Morgan of the Arizona Republic reports.

Although a definitive timetable for Lindback's recovery has yet to be released, the 27-year-old netminder may have a difficult time returning to full health before training camps open next season. He's also set to become an unrestricted free agent following the 2015-16 campaign, and it isn't clear how much attention, if any, he'll garner on the open market. Lindback will likely hope to secure a backup spot with a goaltender needy club, as he didn't play well enough this season to warrant consideration as a starter, compiling a 5-7-1 record with a 3.11 GAA and .894 save percentage in 19 appearances.

Coyotes' Anders Lindback: Likely out for the season

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/16/16) Lindback (achilles) is expected to miss the remainder of the season, Craig Morgan of the Arizona Republic reports.

Coyotes' general manager Don Maloney indicated Lindback suffered an achilles tendon injury that will likely require surgery. The club hasn't released a precise timetable, but going under the knife would effectively end the 27-year-old's season and could potentially impact his availability for the beginning of next year. Fellow goalie Mike Smith (lower body) also remains "a long ways" from a return, according to coach Dave Tippett, so the team will be left with Louis Domingue and recent call-up Niklas Treutle in net for the time being.

Coyotes' Anders Lindback: Dealing with serious injury

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/16/16) Lindback (undisclosed) will undergo further medical tests Tuesday, but coach Dave Tippett noted Monday that he believes the injury is "fairly serious," Sarah McLellan of The Arizona Republic reports.

Lindback suffered the undisclosed injury while off the ice Monday and the organization has yet to divulge specifics. Obviously Tippett's remarks don't bode well for Lindback seeing the ice over the next few games, which means Arizona will need to promote a goalie from AHL to serve as primary backup to Louis Domingue while Lindback recovers.

Coyotes' Anders Lindback: Will not play Monday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/15/16) Lindback sustained an "off-ice" injury before warmups Monday and will not play against Montreal.

Lindback was set to back up Louis Domingue in net on Monday prior to the injury, a role which will now be filled by Nathan Schoenfeld. Lindback can be considered day-to-day until more information becomes available. The 27-year-old Swedish netminder's next chance to return will come Thursday when Arizona hosts Dallas. Lindback has taken a loss in his previous five appearances, so he hasn't been providing fantasy owners with a ton of value lately.
