  • Senators' Mark Stone: Back at it Saturday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/25/17) Stone (lower body) will play Saturday versus the Canadiens, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.

Stone is ready to rock after missing the last seven games. The winger is at an even 50 points (22 goals, 28 assists) this season, marking the third straight campaign that he's had at least 50 combined goals and assists. Oh, and he's picked up 14 power-play points as well, proving that he deserves to be activated in all fantasy formats at this time.

Senators' Mark Stone: Eyeing return for Saturday's game

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/23/17) Stone (lower body) is aiming to return Saturday on the road against the Canadiens, Chris Stevenson of TSN 1200 reports.

This news effectively rules out Stone for Thursday's home contest with the Penguins. If you're among the many counting on Stone in the fantasy playoffs, it'll be important to check back and see if he takes the team charter to Montreal. Stone has accumulated 50 points (22 goals, 28 assists) along with a helpful plus-10 rating, and 14 of his points have come on the man advantage.

Senators' Mark Stone: No limitations in practice Thursday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/23/17) Stone (lower body) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Dean Brown of TSN 1200 reports.

The talented scoring winger has missed the past six games, but he's seemingly passed all of the hurdles in his recovery. At this point, we're waiting for the Senators to make an official determination on his status for Thursday's game against the Penguins.

    Senators' Mark Stone: Making strides

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/21/17) According to coach Guy Boucher, Stone (lower body) has taken a "major step" toward returning to action, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports.

Stone is skating prior to practice and seems to be trending in the right direction. Prior to getting hurt, the winger was stuck in a rut with a seven-game goal drought, although he was able to garner three helpers and 14 shots during that stretch. Once he's cleared to return, the 24-year-old will likely resume his role on the power play, where he is averaging 3:05 of ice time and has tallied 14 points.

Senators' Mark Stone: Far away from return to ice

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/18/17) Stone (lower body) is "not even close" to skating, according to Senators coach Guy Boucher, TSN's Brent Wallace reports.

With that being the case, we're a bit surprised that Stone currently isn't showing on injured reserve. Only 13 games remain on the regular-season schedule for Ottawa, including Saturday's home tilt against the Habs. If you're in need of a forward for a playoff run and are getting burned by Stone's absence, consider dropping him for a player off the waiver wire. After all, one would think he'd need to get in multiple practices before returning and time is simply running out.
