  • Blues' Jaden Schwartz: Inks new deal with Blues

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(7/15/16) Schwartz signed a five-year deal with the Blues on Friday worth $26.75 million.

Schwartz was able to notch 22 points during the 2015-16 regular season, despite appearing in just 33 contests. The bulk of this new deal was likely earned in the playoffs after the 24-year-old tallied four goals and 10 helpers, including five points with the man advantage. If he can stay healthy next year, the winger is a solid mid-level option for fantasy owners to consider, with significant upside when factoring in his average ice time of 17:22 per night.

Blues' Jaden Schwartz: Files for arbitration

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(7/5/16) Schwartz officially filed for arbitration on Tuesday, Randy Sportak of the Calgary Sun reports.

Schwartz dealt with an injury this past season, limiting him to just 33 games, while still posting eight goals and 14 assists. He played an even bigger role in the playoffs, making the Blues desire to keep him around even stronger. The Blues tendered him a qualifying offer late last month, but the sides have been unable to come to an agreement, so Schwartz filed for arbitration. Hearings are set for late July to be heard by a neutral third party, but that doesn't eliminate a potential deal from getting done prior to it.

Blues' Jaden Schwartz: Given qualifying offer by Blues

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(6/27/16) Schwartz was extended a qualifying offer by the Sharks on Monday, Dhiren Mahiban of The Canadian Press reports.

Schwartz saw action in just 33 contests this season due to injury, but made the most of his limited opportunities during the regular season by netting eight goals and 14 helpers. The winger stepped up his game even more in the playoffs as he went for 14 points in just 20 outings. If he can remain healthy, the 24-year-old looks like he will have a standout 2016-17 campaign.

Blues' Jaden Schwartz: Scores power-play goal in third straight

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/22/16) Schwartz scored a power-play goal on five shots and added four hits in Thursday's 4-3 double-overtime loss to Chicago in Game 5.

That's now three straight with power-play markers and points in the last four (five total) for Schwartz, who is on an excellent run as he tries to lead the Blues to the second round. The 23-year-old's season was plagued by an ankle injury, but it's good to see him get back to producing with regularity, as the 2010 first-round pick had 63 points just last season, proving the potential is there. Schwartz is having the best playoff run of his career, and there's no end in sight unless St. Louis loses their series lead.

Blues' Jaden Schwartz: Nets two points in Game 4 win

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/20/16) Schwartz scored a goal and added an assist in Tuesday's 4-3 win against Chicago.

Despite playing just 33 games during the regular season, Schwartz continues to be a consistent top-six performer for the Blues and now has four points in four games in the series and seven points in his past 10 playoff games. However, Schwartz has super sniper Vladimir Tarasenko to thank for the majority of his points, and will continue to do as long as he plays on Tarasenko's line.
