  • Devils' David Warsofsky: Gets first point in new sweater

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/29/16) Warsofsky notched his first point as a Devil on Tuesday, picking up a power-play assist in a 2-1 win over the Bruins.

The 25-year-old blueliner has been seeing steady minutes on the power play over his last six games, but this is the first time it's resulted in any production. The ex-Bruin has shown some upside in the AHL, but as an undersized defenseman whose skill set is short of elite, his fantasy prospects remain slim outside very deep formats.

Devils' David Warsofsky: Will return Thursday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/10/16) Warsofsky (ankle) will return to the lineup Thursday agaisnt the Sharks, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.

Warsofsky was expected to miss the contest because of a sore ankle, but ended up taking the ice for warmups and is feeling well enough to play. His return bumps Damon Severson out of the lineup, but the 25-year-old blueliner doesn't provide a ton of fantasy upside, notching just one point over 13 games this season (just one with the Devils though). He may see more consistent ice time with his new club, but it probably won't translate to a big bump in his value.

Devils' David Warsofsky: Won't play Sunday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/6/16) Warsofsky will not dress for Sunday's game against the Penguins due to a lower-body injury, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports.

It's unclear exactly when Warsofsky's injury surfaced, but fortunately it's been designated lower body rather than upper body given his recent concussion problems. The blueliner doesn't provide much in terms of fantasy value (one point in 12 games this season) even when he's in the lineup but consider him day-to-day for now. The team should provide another update when he's set to draw back in.

Devils' David Warsofsky: Claimed from Penguins

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/29/16) Warsofsky was claimed off waivers by the Devils from Pittsburgh on Monday, Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

The Pens exposed Warsofsky, fresh off a concussion, to waivers on Sunday, and he didn't last long. Fantasy owners won't find much intrigue here, as the 25-year-old owns just four points in 22 career NHL games, including only one in 12 contests this year.

Penguins' David Warsofsky: Recalled from conditioning assignment and waived

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/28/16) Warsofsky (concussion) was recalled from a conditioning assignment and then waived Sunday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sport reports.

Warsofsky spent a week in the minors after battling a concussion since Jan. 17. With the trade deadline fast-approaching, the move was likely made to provide the Penguins with some roster flexibility should they acquire any new players. The former Boston University standout has one point in 12 games this season, and will likely serve as Pittsburgh's eighth defenseman in the near future.

  • November 10, 2014: Bruins Place Warsofsky On IR
Warsofsky (groin) was transferred to injured reserve Monday. With Warsofsky set to miss the next two-to-four weeks with the groin injury, the Bruins decided to move the blueliner to IR in order to open up a roster spot for Torey Krug (finger), who will return to action Monday. Once healthy, it seems probable that Warsofsky will return to AHL Providence.
November 9, 2014: Bruins' Warsofsky Out 2-4 Weeks
GM Peter Chiarelli confirmed Sunday that Warsofsky will be out 2-4 weeks with a groin strain, the Bruins' official site reports.Once Warsofsky returns to action, he could well head back to the AHL, depending on the health of the rest of the Bruins' blue line corps when that time arrives.
November 8, 2014: Bruins' Warsofsky To Miss Time
Warsofsky is expected to miss 2-3 weeks with a pulled groin muscle, according to the Boston Herald.Warsofsky, who had been filling in on the Bruins' blue line -- while fellow mobile blueliner Torey Krug (among others) was sidelined -- recorded an assist in his four games with the big club. Upon his return to health, a return to AHL Providence seems plausible, depending on the health of Boston's other defensemen at that time.
November 7, 2014: Bruins' Warsofsky "Out For A While"
Coach Claude Julien said Warsofsky would be "out for a while" after suffering an injury in Thursday's game against the Oilers, Joe Haggerty of CSNNE.com reports.
October 31, 2014: Warsofsky Suits Up For Bruins
Warsofsky saw 18:09 worth of ice time in Thursday's game against the Sabres. With fellow mobile blueliner Torey Krug out, Warsofsky saw 1:49 worth of power play time on Thursday, and if that trend continues, Warsofsky could merit attention in deeper leagues in the short-term.
