Penguins' David Warsofsky: Recalled from AHL

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/11/17) Warsofsky was recalled from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Wednesday, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

The Penguins are dealing with an assortment of injuries on the blue line, so the addition of Warsofsky, who has previously appeared in four games with the NHL club this season, should help restore some depth. Goalie Tristan Jerry was assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in a corresponding move, signaling that Matt Murray (lower body) is likely ready to return to the ice.

Penguins' David Warsofsky: Headed back to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/1/17) Warsofsky was moved back to the team's AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton affiliate Sunday.

Rather than sit for a week with the rest of the Penguins, the team sent the blueliner and a couple other players to the minors to get some added ice time. It's quite possible Warsofsky will return to Pittsburgh before the team plays its next game Jan. 8 when Tampa Bay comes to town.

Penguins' David Warsofsky: Promoted to big club

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(12/28/16) The Penguins recalled Warsofsky from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Wednesday.

Olli Maatta will miss a second consecutive game Wednesday due to an illness, so Warsofsky will round out the Penguins' depth at defense while Maatta is sidelined. The 26-year-old blueliner will likely return to the minors as soon as Maatta is fit to play.

Penguins' David Warsofsky: Sent back to minors

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(11/7/16) Warsofsky was reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Monday.

Warsofsky has spent a lot of time on the Penguins' 23-man roster this season given frequent injuries on the blue line. His demotion could bode well for the return of Derrick Pouliot (undisclosed) who has been sidelined since Oct. 21. With Warsofsky needed in Pittsburgh, he has logged just one game with the Baby Pens, but did managed to tally a goal and an assist in that outing. The 26-year-old certainly has potential, however fantasy owners may want to consider waiting to stash him on their bench until he can secure a more consistent role within the Penguins organization.
