  • Canucks' Sven Baertschi: Remains on injured reserve

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/16/17) Baertschi (concussion) is still on injured reserve, per the NHL's official media site.

Baertschi remains without a clear-cut timetable for his return to Vancouver's lineup, and will almost certainly miss a fifth consecutive game Thursday against St. Louis. The Swiss forward has yet to resume skating, so a more definite timeline for his return to game action should be established once he's able to start participating in on-ice activities.

Canucks' Sven Baertschi: Placed on IR

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/10/17) Baertschi (concussion) is listed on injured reserve, per the NHL's official media site.

This effectively rules out the Swiss national for the next two games. He'll now be targeting a Feb. 16 road match opposing the Blues.

    Canucks' Sven Baertschi: Out Thursday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/9/17) Baertschi (concussion) won't play Thursday against Columbus.

Baertschi made the trip to Columbus with his teammates ahead of Thursday's tilt, but it would have been a stretch for him to suit up just two days after suffering a concussion in Tuesday's matchup with Nashville. The Canucks' expect to know more about the 24-year-old winger's status Friday, but at this juncture there's no telling whether he'll be ready to return Saturday against the Bruins.

Canucks' Sven Baertschi: Status quo despite traveling

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/8/17) Baertschi (concussion) accompanied his teammates on the charter to Columbus -- the Canucks play the Blue Jackets on Thursday, but his status for that game has yet to be determined.

It's difficult to assess this situation without knowing all of the details, but we do know that the Canucks aren't as potent offensively without the breakout winger in the lineup. Baertschi is just one goal or assist shy of tying a career high of 28 points set last season, plus he's been rewarded with two minutes of power-play ice time per contest. In the likely event that the Canucks hold morning skate on game day, further updates on the Swiss skater should follow.

Canucks' Sven Baertschi: Leaves game due to concussion

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/7/17) Baertschi left Tuesday's game against the Predators due to a concussion and he will not return.

Baertschi is on pace for a career-high 44 points, so hopefully this concussion doesn't force him out of action for too long. The Swiss winger has cooled off a bit in recent weeks. However, he's still just two goals short of setting his career best (15) set last season, and he already has set his top mark for assists (14).

Baertschi scored his first two goals in a Vancouver uniform in Saturday's win over the Oilers.Baertschi has just played two games with the Canucks this season, but he's already making a good first impression. After putting up just 26 points in 66 games with the Flames, the 22-year-old was in need of a change of scenery. He's got some great offensive potential, but it's unknown if the youngster will be in the lineup for Game 1 of the playoffs against his former team Wednesday.
