| D Aaron Ward retired from the NHL after more than 13 seasons. Ward won three Stanley Cups -- two with the Red Wings in 1997 and 1998 and one with the Hurricanes in 2006. He had knee surgery in the offseason and wouldn't have been ready for the beginning of this season had he played. Ward, 37, scored 44 goals and had 107 assists in his career. (Updated 2010824) TSX |
