  • Thibault blanks the Bruins in finale
(4/6/08) The Bruins lost 3-0 Saturday to the Buffalo Sabres, who got a hat trick from Thomas Vanek and strong goaltending from Jocelyn Thibault. Buffalo was the superior team Saturday night when Thibault got his second shutout of the season in his first start since Jan. 21. But the win came too late for the Sabres, who were eliminated from playoff contention on Thursday night in a 3-1 loss at Montreal. Thibault played in place of Ryan Miller, who had started the previous 34 games. Thibault was rarely tested as the Bruins had 17 shots on goal. His previous game was on March 12 when he relieved Miller against Pittsburgh.
    Thibault replaces Miller in third
(3/12/08) Jocelyn Thibault stepped between the pipes to relieve Ryan Miller in the third period of Wednesday's 7-3 loss at Pittsburgh. Thibault played the final 10 minutes and allowed one goal on four shots. Miller was touched for six goals on 32 shots.
Thibault beaten twice on seven shots
(2/27/08) Jocelyn Thibault played just eight minutes Wednesday against Nashville in the second period until Ryan Miller returned back in the game. Thibault allowed two goals on seven shots. Miller left the game after his nose was bloodied by a shot to the mask in the second period. Miller was welcomed back by a rousing cheer with 8:58 remaining in the period.
    Thibault relieves flat Miller
(2/16/08) Jocelyn Thibault, who hadn't played since Feb. 1, stopped 20 of 21 in relief of Ryan Miller who unexpectedly got most of Saturday off when he was pulled after the Rangers went up 4-0 after just 12:25 of play. It was Miller's first regulation loss since Jan. 19, before an 8-0-1 run. Thibault didn't face an official shot in the first, but gave up Sean Avery's second goal of the game -- eighth of the season -- 7:47 into the second.
Thibault comes in for injured Miller
(2/1/08) Jocelyn Thibault replaced Sabres starter Ryan Miller at the start of the third period and allowed two goals on nine shots in regulation and overtime before losing 5-4 in a shootout. Thibault gave up a game-tying goal to Jim Slater 2:25 into the third period. Eric Perrin, Atlanta's fourth shooter, beat Thibault with a fake before scoring in the shootout to give the Thrashers the win. Perrin faked to his right before pulling the puck back and shooting past Thibault to the left side of the net, ending the Sabres' three-game winning streak. Miller left the game with a leg injury.
