Selanne entering his last season: Anaheim forward Teemu Selanne says his next NHL season will be his last. Selanne, a 10-time All-Star, celebrated his 39th birthday Friday. He told the Helsingin Sanomat newspaper in Finland that a man his age doesn't belong in the NHL. Selanne recently contemplated retirement but decided to play for one more season. He also pondered the possibility of playing with longtime Montreal captain Saku Koivu. The Ducks are a possible new team for Koivu, who is leaving the Canadiens after 13 years.

The Finnish-born Selanne entered the NHL 1992 at age 22 with the Winnipeg Jets. In his first season, he scored 76 goals to set a rookie record. Selanne has scored 614 goals for Winnipeg, San Jose, Colorado and Anaheim. Selanne missed some time in 2008-09 due to injury, but still had a pretty successful season with 27 goals and 54 assists in 65 games. The 16-year veteran still possesses point-per-game ability and could be an asset to the Ducks in '09-10. Selanne is still worth drafting in all Fantasy formats.

RW Teemu Selanne, who committed June 27 to playing another season with the Ducks, is signed for the 2009-10 campaign at a salary of only $2 million. Before producing 27 goals and 54 points in 67 games last season, Selanne signed a two-year, $5.25 million contract, giving him a salary-cap hit of $2.625 million. The all-time Ducks leader with 352 goals and 743 points, Selanne is 21 goals short of the 600 plateau for his career. 62/9/2009
