Numminen retires after 20 seasons: NHL.com reports that news out of Finland has veteran defenseman Teppo Numminen retiring after 20 NHL seasons. Numminen skated in 57 games for the Sabres in 2008-09, after playing in only one game in 2007-08 due to a heart problem.
