Brunette has successful surgery: Minnesota Wild forward Andrew Brunette had surgery on his right knee on Thursday. The team said in a statement that the procedure "went well." Brunette is scheduled to begin a rehabilitation program on Friday. The left wing played on a torn ligament for much of the second half of the season. He missed only two games all season. He said he hopes to be ready for training camp in September.

Fantasy Analysis

Brunette signed a three-year, $7 million contract to return to the Wild in the offseason. He provided toughness and leadership and finished second on the team with 22 goals and 50 points. Most players coming off a torn ACL struggle in their first season back. However, Brunette played with the injury for most of the season, so he could be well ahead of the curve upon his return. Still, Brunette will be an injury-risk selection on Draft Day 2009.
