Biron was waived by the Rangers on Monday, TSN's Ryan Rishaug reports.Biron has had a rough start to the season with a .763 save percentage and a 7.61 GAA in two games. If he clears waivers, he will head to the AHL for the first time since 2009-10.

Biron stopped 13 of 17 shots faced before being pulled after two periods of Saturday's 5-3 loss to St. Louis.While Biron wasn't exactly sharp in his first start of the season, the team's play did seemingly improve, which is good news for all concerned. With the Rangers slated to play just two games this week, Biron won't likely be needed unless starter Henrik Lundqvist gets pulled from the pipes, even then his fantasy value is very limited.

Biron will be in the net Saturday against the Blues, Newsday reports.Henrik Lundqvist has been lit up for 10 goals over his last two starts, and although Biron isn't a threat to take over as the No. 1 goaltender, coach Alain Vigneault decided King Henrik could benefit from a rest. Biron didn't fare particularly well in relief of Lundqvist on Tuesday, surrendering five goals in a 9-2 loss to the Sharks.
