  • Wild's Mathew Dumba: Returns to lineup Tuesday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/21/17) Dumba (lower body) was paired with Marco Scandella in warmups and will play Tuesday against Chicago, Michael Russo of the Star Tribune reports.

The first-round pick will return from a lower body injury for a rivalry game against the Blackhawks. Over 18 games in 2017, Dumba has scored two goals and recorded seven assists. In these games, the 22-year-old defenseman played 20:40 a game, complemented by substantial power-play ice time as well. Dumba will be return to duty in the defensive rotation as well as the power play, so expect business as usual in Minnesota.

Wild's Mathew Dumba: Optimistic about return

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/21/17) Dumba (lower body) feels ready to play Tuesday against Chicago, though he is yet to be officially cleared.

Dumba has missed the team's last four games while dealing with both an illness and this injury. While Dumba's playing status hasn't been confirmed, Michael Russo of the Star Tribune reports that the 22-year-old defenseman was taking line rushes with other members of the top six, making him a probability for Tuesday.

Wild's Mathew Dumba: Hoping to return Tuesday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/18/17) Dumba (lower body) has been making progress with a possible return coming against the Blackhawks on Tuesday, Michael Russo of the Star Tribune reports.

Dumba's chances of facing Chicago reportedly hinge on whether he can turn in a "good practice" Monday. We're talking about a cross-category contributor -- he's accumulated 24 points with a plus-24 rating in 54 games -- whose value is on the rise, so it'll be worth tracking his recovery all the way through if you need help on the blue line for your virtual club.

Wild's Mathew Dumba: Misses practice with illness

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/15/17) Dumba (lower body) was absent from practice Wednesday with an illness.

According to coach Bruce Boudreau, Dumba's illness, combined with a lower-body injury, will likely keep him sidelined until after the team returns from their bye week, which would be Feb. 27 against Los Angeles at the earliest. The 22-year-old as already missed a pair of outings and this news likely rules him out for at least the next three. The Saskatchewan native has been a nice addition to Minnesota's blue line -- seven goals and 17 assists this season -- and needs just two more points to tie his offensive numbers from his rookie campaign.

Wild's Mathew Dumba: Missed another game due to injury

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/14/17) Dumba (lower body) was scratched for the second game in a row Tuesday against the Ducks.

It's uncertain how long Dumba will be sidelined so fantasy owners will want to keep him reserved until he can officially make his way back into the lineup. He has taken a big step forward in his development this season and is worth using in most pools of 12 or more teams as a depth option.

Dumba had the primary assist on both Minnesota goals in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Rangers.A very active game for Dumba, who pinched into the offensive zone frequently and aggressively. He's been a more frequent scoreboard presence of late, with five points in his last eight games. All in all, Dumba looks like he's got all the goods for a big breakout next year.
