  • Blue Jackets' Ryan Murray: Remains out Thursday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/20/17) Murray (hand) will not return to the lineup against Pittsburgh on Thursday, Wes Crosby of NHL.com reports.

Murray hasn't played since March 11, so it seems increasingly unlikely that he'll return in time to make an impact in the postseason. If the blueliner can get back, he may not be able to bounce Gabriel Carlsson for the game-day lineup, considering that Murray will be shaking off more than a month of rust.

Blue Jackets' Ryan Murray: Won't play in Game 4

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/18/17) Murray (hand) will not be available for Tuesday's Game 4 versus Pittsburgh.

Murray has been sidelined for the Blue Jackets' past 18 contests and does not appear any closer to getting back on the ice. The 23-year-old would likely provide a boost to a Columbus blue line that will be without rookie sensation Zach Werenski (face), who is done for the year. Until Murray is cleared to play, Kyle Quincey will likely slot into the third pairing alongside Markus Nutivaara.

Blue Jackets' Ryan Murray: Will miss Game 3

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/16/17) Murray (hand) will not play in Sunday's Game 3 matchup against the Penguins, Pens Inside Scoop reports.

Murray hasn't dressed since mid-March due to a broken hand but has been operating under a day-to-day label recently. The blueliner's return would certainly be a welcoming sight for the Jackets, but it won't come in Game 3. He may be running out of chances to do so, as Columbus fell behind 2-0 in both playoff contests so far. His next chance to return arrives Tuesday in Game 4.

Blue Jackets' Ryan Murray: Remains sidelined for Game 2

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/14/17) Murray (hand) has been ruled out for Friday's matchup with Pittsburgh, Wes Crosby of NHL.com reports.

Despite being described as day-to-day, Murray will miss his 17th consecutive contest. When healthy, the defenseman is averaging 18:20 of ice time per game, which includes 1:52 on the penalty kill where his absence will likely be felt the most. During Game 1, the Pens converted on one of their three power-play opportunities and will look to capitalize further with Murray out of the lineup.

Blue Jackets' Ryan Murray: Receives day-to-day label

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/11/17) Murray (hand) has been labeled day-to-day ahead of Wednesday's playoff opener against the Penguins.

Save one game on March 11 in which he saw just 1:44 of ice time, Murray has not seen any action in a span of 17 games since sustaining his broken hand at the beginning of March. With the Blue Jackets likely getting Zach Werenski (shoulder) back for Game 1, the need for Murray isn't as urgent, but the team would certainly welcome him back for the valuable blue-line depth he provides.

While he probably won't be available for Saturday's game against the Penguins, a return at some point next week cannot be ruled out.
