Gomez going for further tests: The Sports Xchange reports the injuries continue to mount for the Canadiens with Scott Gomez joining the list of walking wounded. Gomez left in the third period of Friday's game in Washington with an undisclosed "lower-body injury" and was unable to play Saturday night against Detroit. The Canadiens say Gomez will undergo further tests, but it's believed that he suffered a groin injury, which could sideline him for a while.

Fantasy Analysis

The Canadiens were hoping that Gomez, the highest-paid player on the team with an $8 million price tag, was going to pick up his game after trading for him in the offseason. Before the injury, he had gone 13 games without a goal and five games without a point. This injury just mounts to the problems Gomez has had on the ice in November. His play has definitely tailed off and Gomez is looking like the same inconsistent center we saw in New York. He is not recommended option for Fantasy Week 8 (Nov. 23-29). Gomez can be a viable Fantasy forward when healthy, but he is more of a No. 4 or No. 5 option until he gets back on track.
