Legace a grave disappointment for Blues: The Sports Xchange reports goalie Manny Legace was considered the Blues' most disappointing player in 2008-09. Legace had a record of 13-9-2 through January, but in early February the club put him on waivers because of off-the-ice issues they had with the goalie. Legace cleared waivers and was assigned to the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria (Ill.) Rivermen. Legace was a model teammate in the AHL and helped lead the Rivermen into the playoffs, but his contract with the Blues expires July 1 and all indications are that he won't be re-signed by the team.

Fantasy Analysis

Had Legace not gotten injured early in the season, his '08-09 season might have gone differently. But he never really rebounded from the freak hip injury which was a result of him slipping on a red carpet laid out for then vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. Some team might take a flier on the veteran Legace in 2009-10, but it will likely be in a backup role. Continue to track his offseason progress, but Legace is likely to have minimal Fantasy appeal Draft Day.
